Tasting Notes:
A rich, complex wine that is drinking very well now and will greatly improve over the next 10 years. Aromatic smoke and intense plum/prune characters, other dark fruits such as blackberry, currant. Some interesting floral components. Big mouth feel with bittersweet chocolate (Scharffen Berger, not Ghirardelli) and sweet ripe dark fruits. Many layers of intense fruit, well integrated, spicy oak and a long finish with silky tannins and good acid structure.
