Blended from Blocks 4, 6 and 7, VHR showcases the rich layers of Vine Hill Ranch. Block 6 carries flavors of the forest with tightly woven, brooding tannins. Creekside Block 7 brings wet stone and graphite qualities, while our benchland’s Block 4 yields vibrant red cherry fruit. The wine has a profound gravitas—a pure and elegant vitality that dances across the palate.

Harvested by hand in the cool morning hours of October 5 through 10. Grapes were sorted and aged individually in French oak for 14 months, then blended and returned to barrel for an additional 8 months. 375 cases were bottled on July 28, 2011. Layers of dark red fruit, flowers, spices and licorice are some of the notes that emerge in this beautifully delineated, expressive Cabernet. The fruit shows fabulous vibrancy through to the silky, perfumed finish. This is a beautiful 2009 loaded with class and personality. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2029. (Dec 2011)"
